Freekidstories is a free educational resource that promotes language learning through stories. Stories are categorised by languages, age groups as well as themes such as Bible Stories (圣经故事), Bilingual Stories (双语故事) and Heroes From History (历史上伟人). Stories are presented in power point slides which you downlad as a pdf. Available in bilingual English Mandarin.

Storybooks Canada is a free open educational resource that promotes literacy and language learning in homes, schools, and communities. It makes 40 stories from the African Storybook available with text and audio in English, Mandarin and other widely spoken immigrant and refugee languages of Canada. You can even download the text in pdf format.

Mandarin Bean (All levels) - Practice Your Reading and Listening

Mandarin Bean is an excellent free online resource to help you practice and master your Mandarin via reading and listening. There is the added resource of scripts with Chinese characters and associated pinyin. The lessons are categorised from beginner to advanced level. The topics are interesting as it ranges from every day conversations to Chinese culture.
